Children's Hospital of Fudan University
Children's Hospital of Fudan University, founded in 1952 as Shanghai First Children's Hospital, is China's first pediatric hospital affiliated with a university. Now serving as the National Children's Medical Center, it has grown into the nation's largest and most authoritative Grade III Level A children's specialist hospital. The hospital operates approximately 800 beds and handles over 3 million outpatient and emergency visits annually, with a workforce of more than 2,500 staff, including many of China's top pediatric specialists. The hospital is anchored by a cluster of National Clinical Key Specialties. Its Pediatric Surgery division is China's premier center for neonatal and congenital anomaly surgery, leading nationally in minimally invasive techniques. The Neonatology department is a national reference center for critically ill newborns. Pediatric Cardiology ranks among the nation's best for congenital heart disease diagnosis and intervention. Pediatric Respiratory Medicine and Pediatric Neurology are both nationally top-ranked, with strong programs in epilepsy and childhood respiratory disease. Pediatric Infectious Diseases serves as a national hub for childhood infection control.
