Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University
Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University (also known as Hubei General Hospital), founded in 1923, is one of China's earliest public hospitals and a premier tertiary Grade-A teaching hospital affiliated with Wuhan University. With over a century of development, it has evolved into a comprehensive medical center integrating clinical care, medical education, and scientific research.
The hospital operates multiple campuses—Shouyi, East, and Hongshan—with a combined capacity of approximately 4,300 beds and serving over 4 million outpatient and emergency visits annually. It employs more than 6,000 medical staff, including over 500 senior-title professionals.
Clinically, the hospital is nationally recognized for its excellence in cardiology, nephrology, psychiatry, gastroenterology, otolaryngology, thoracic surgery, and orthopedics. Several disciplines hold National Key Clinical Specialty designations, with cardiovascular and nephrology programs consistently ranked among the top in China. The hospital also excels in minimally invasive surgery, organ transplantation, and critical care medicine.
