The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University
Founded in 1939 as the affiliated hospital of Jiangxi Medical College, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University has evolved over more than eight decades into one of the largest and most comprehensive tertiary-A general hospitals in eastern China. Located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, the hospital operates two major campuses—Donghu and Xianghu—with a combined total of over 5,000 beds and approximately 7,000 medical and administrative staff, handling millions of outpatient and inpatient visits annually.
The hospital is nationally renowned for several clinical specialties. Its Department of Burns is one of the top-ranked burn centers in China and a designated national key clinical discipline. Other nationally recognized key specialties include gastroenterology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, organ transplantation, respiratory medicine, and oncology. The hospital also excels in minimally invasive surgery, cardiovascular interventions, and critical care medicine.
