Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University
Founded in 1994 through a generous donation from Sir Run Run Shaw, the legendary Hong Kong industrialist and philanthropist, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital has grown into a nationally renowned public Grade III-A hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Operating three campuses—Qingchun, Xiasha, and Shuangling—the hospital comprises approximately 3,200 beds and employs over 4,000 medical professionals, serving as a comprehensive medical center for eastern China.
The hospital is best known for its pioneering role in minimally invasive surgery. It was among the first in China to establish a dedicated minimally invasive surgery center and has since become a national training hub for laparoscopic and robot-assisted procedures. Its Head and Neck Surgery, General Surgery, and Emergency & Trauma Center are nationally recognized for clinical excellence.
